Benidorm is a coastal town in the province of Alicante, Spain. Prior to the 1960s, it was a small village. Today it stands out for its hotel industry, beaches and skyscrapers, built as a result of its tourist-orientated economy. As a tourist destination Benidorm has a lot to offer, ranging from sandy beaches, water sports and adventure activities (hiking, cycling, climbing) to an active nightlife, beautiful nature and theme parks. Thanks to its micro climate Benidorm has about 3.400 hours of sunshine every year with an average temperature of 18°C!
Benidorm has changed a lot since the days when it was an exclusively British 18/30s club land. It is becoming a more stylish town, catering to a wider variety of people.. The gay scene is well established and extensive with about 30 gay bars all located close to each other in the Old Town with many bars appealing to different tastes. Add to that its beautiful beaches, over 2,000 shops and lots of major attractions to keep you occupied, it all adds up to a first rate gay holiday destination.
DEGREES Tip: In Benidorm, sunshine, beach and great atmosphere are guaranteed!
