GRAN CANARIA

[/mk_fancy_title][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]

Gran Canaria is certainly one of the last remaining European paradise isles. A continent in miniature, it offers exotic fauna and flora ,lush forests, mountains, Sahara-like dunes, volcanic craters, the odd flurry of snow on the highest peaks, the most dynamic capital city in the Canaries, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches!

Gran Canaria is a popular holiday destination for gays, especially Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas on the south coast. The real attractions are the beach and the famous dunes of Maspalomas. They extend over a length of 6 kilometers and consist of very fine sand, whose basis is coralline and shell limestone, crushed and washed ashore by the surf. The main area for the gay scene is the Yumbo Center in Playa del Inglés, a leisure and shopping center with over 200 shops, restaurants and bars. At night it transforms into a hotspot for gay nightlife with numerous bars, pubs and clubs.

Annual highlights are the carnival in February or March and the Maspalomas Gay Pride in May. Maspalomas Pride will be launching the first ever edition of Maspalomas Winter Pride Gran Canaria 2015, in November. The most popular time to visit is September – November and March – June
